We are a non-governmental organisation currently established in six countries, but with active agents spread uniformly across five continents. Each pole is financially independent but connected to the operational headquarters based in Romania.
Comments and emails
When visitors leave comments on the site or engage in correspondence with our mail management centre, we collect the data provided in the relevant forms, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser user agent string to aid in spam detection.
An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a « hash ») may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service is available at this address: https://automattic.com/privacy. After your comment is approved, if applicable, your profile picture is visible to the public within the context of your comment.
Media
If you were to upload images or other media files to our site, you must avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Donations
The donation form collects the information you provide in it, which is processed and centralised by DonorBox. DonorBox then forwards this information to us for reference. The page displaying DonorBox’s privacy policy is accessible at this address: https://donorbox.org/privacy

Data Retention Period
If you leave a comment or engage in correspondence with our mail management service, your messages and their metadata are retained indefinitely. For comments, this allows us to recognize and automatically approve your subsequent contributions instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What are your rights regarding your data?
If you have an account on our site, or if you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You may also ask us to delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include the data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments and emails received by our mail management centre may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
