"The City of Life" Project
This project is our flagship initiative, it represents the culmination of years of dedicated effort. It may seem that this type of project has been envisioned frequently for quite some time, possibly appearing just as another repetition of the same subject, and rightfully so. Nonetheless, what truly distinguishes it is that it’s the very first of its kind to be built upon a wholly reimagined socio-economic model — something that was resolutely impossible to implement just a few years ago.
Initial Situation Analysis
In the past, some have attempted to bring forth these diverse and varied projects, repeatedly, at varying scales. They utlimately failed to achieve them due to the challenges posed by past civilisational models and the persistence of a dysfunctional societal organisation. While they may have been profitable for a few, they were significantly unbalanced. This was the only condition for their opulence at the expense of everyone else. Some fundamentals have been corrected in recent years, partly due to actions we have taken, and to our involvement to a greater or lesser extent in others. These corrections, whose consequences are now fully under control, pave the way for unlimited progress in a direction that was previously concealed, as circumstances were artificially constrained to remain static.
The system that was guiding human civilisation up to now was deliberately restricting its natural evolution and maintaining it within a limited framework in order to guarantee its fragile balance. If this peculiar approach, heavily reliant on social engineering and economic policies imposing environmental damage (commonly referred to as « growth » by the media) was indeed imperative for the world’s functioning as envisaged by the key decision-makers during the so-called « industrial revolution », in the late 18th century, it is absolutely no longer necessary today. If the world continues to function as it has in the past, it’s out of habit or fear of operating differently — a fear that invariably accompanies any change — rather than actual necessity. By moving away from a predominantly agrarian economy, the « industrial revolution » radically reshaped the world within a few decades. So, such a drastic and rapid change is indeed possible. Furthermore, it is possible in the right direction.
As for us, we do not have a vocation to change the world. It will do so on its own, far better than we ever could. Our aim is simply to demonstrate how each and every one of us can personally and collectively benefit from living more simply and rationally, within a life framework founded on logical values stemming from common sense, without forcing anything or anyone to go against the natural order, placing the living at the heart of the equation. A lifestyle built upon a completely reimagined economy that thus loses its central position and is used exclusively as a means to bring prosperity to everyone, rather than as the sole and exclusive objective at the expense of everything else.
In this respect, we’d like to express our gratitude, regrettably to most of them posthumously, to the visionaries who, over centuries, sensed the changing course of events. They have endeavored to shed light on a possible future for Humanity and genuinely strove to materialise it. They paved the way for today’s pioneers who are now steadfastly navigating in the direction they’ve indicated, enabling us to give substance to their vision of tomorrow’s world.
The forces of nature cannot be constrained, especially when it comes to evolution (we can divert the course of a river, but who can prevent the arrival of spring?). We’ve reached this point. There is a time for everything. The civilisation’s shift, sensed by the entire Earth, has finally arrived. The indicators confirms it and can no longer be denied.
The City of Life is a prototype, among other possible ones, of the first step taken towards this coming world. Someone had to do it. So, we did it.
Presentation of the Project
The images accompanying the texts to this project are purely illustrative. They are in no way contractual or descriptive of the project itself. Their sole purpose is to illustrate the statements made and evoke a sense of wonder, among other things, as an ideal pursued by those who conceived and supported this project, and will continue to do so until its completion.
This city will take place in the heart of Transylvania, a land of tales and legends in present-day Romania. Rising at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, between sky and earth, it will signify the starting point of a new civilisational paradigm. It is merely its keystone, serving as an inspiring model for all new cities on our planet.
The selected location is still confidential, but it will be a free zone, equivalent in some respects, particularly from a legal perspective, to the high seas. The concerned territory spans several thousand hectares.
With a capacity of 42,000 residents, this city will primarily serve as a full-scale laboratory that restores Humanity to its rightful place in perfect harmony with Nature, be it animals, plants, or even minerals.
All the civilisational aspects inherent to the functioning of a planet will be concentrated at the heart of this city. Everything you may know about the functioning of the current world will be scaled down and approached from an entirely different and, in some cases, entirely unexpected perspective.
First of all, this will involve bringing Humanity and Nature within the same framework, in a logic of wholesome reunification, to establish a permanent, sustainable, and resilient context for exchange and collaboration between the two worlds. This will initiate an evolutionary dynamic where the good-living and the fulfillment of all will not only be allowed but will, above all, be the standard. Urban planning regulations will prioritise both « style » and a seamless, harmonious integration of constructions into the environment. The choice of the most durable materials and construction techniques, as well as the building’s height, will be context-specific to ensure perfect coherence with topographical conditions, sunlight, climate, and natural typology (vegetation, geology, soil, etc.). Each building will be designed to enable optimal conditions for the respect of all forms of life in every detail. Geobiological considerations, electromagnetic influences, and air quality will be thoroughly researched and fine-tuned to the best of what is attainable with our current knowledge.
Furthermore, as the cornerstone of this project is autonomy, each aspect of the city will be built upon this principle. Thus, energy will be produced, or rather collected, on-site. The distributed water will be of primary quality, meaning it will be sourced from the Earth’s mantle rather than simply drawn from surface resources. Every aspect will be redundantly designed to mitigate any temporary network failure, ensuring unparalleled service continuity and quality. Communication networks will be perfectly calibrated to enable optimal quality of service and available bandwidth in strict compliance with sanitary conditions in order to preserve the physiological integrity of all representatives of nature. Autonomous transportation, both individual and collective, will be diverse and abundant to facilitate seamless, fast, and serene mobility according to the needs and requirements of each individual. Food production will mostly take place on-site and will be supported by both vertical farming systems and open-field production. Short supply chains will be a priority. Furthermore, production capacities will be concentrated on fruits and vegetables, aquaponics, and poultry farming (for eggs). Dairy production will be limited and seasonal. Animal welfare and the respect for evolutionary conditions will be of utmost importance and carefully regulated. Businesses, whether food-related or not, will be equitably distributed throughout the city to provide the best possible service. Craftsmanship will have access to all 3D printing technologies to produce and repair various types of equipment. All informational resources will be open-source, and every technological advancement will benefit everyone. The healthcare system will emphasise prevention and take a holistic approach to address needs. The education system will integrate theoretical learning and practical hands-on experiences, fostering autonomy and responsability among children. Continuous training will be available unconditionally, both in terms of disciplines and access modalities.
The fundamental axis of Life in this city will also be based on the coverage of all fundamental needs outlined in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, unconditionally and entirely free of charge. Therefore, housing, energy, water, transportation, food, healthcare, and education will also be provided for free. This represents a systemic, unconditional, and reciprocity-free system, made possible by a profound reconfiguration of the very foundation of the global economy (it is applicable on a global scale but initially implemented within the context of this project, not for testing its viability, but to irrefutably demonstrate it). It is about setting the imperatives to open a new societal path into personal and collective fulfillment, far from any necessity for mere survival. Every adult individual, male or female, from the age of 21 to their death, will receive a universal mense every month, free of charge and without any required compensation. Economic, financial, and legal rules will have no equivalent to what has been known so far. The currency in circulation will be a scriptural currency with a fixed value, immune to market fluctuations, and therefore not subject to any other currency, also, as such, not integrated into the foreign exchange market, although its monetary value was defined on April 22, 2011. The financial institution of the « City of Life » will have exclusive precedence over the related services. These services will also be entirely free, and any sums loaned will be interest-free. The new laws put into effect will be based on the respect of all forms of life. They will also take into account the dynamic evolution of both individual and collective fulfillment. Work will be limited to five hours a day as part as a collaboration agreement. No taxation will impede anyone’s development. The economy of destruction will be definitively abolished.
The good or healthy society would then be defined as one that permitted people's highest purposes to emerge by satisfying all their basic needs.
Abraham Maslow
This city will thus be The starting point for the change that Humanity has long been calling for. It’s now that you can be part of this change through your own presence or support, no matter what form it may take. It is a land of brave, bold pioneers, experts in their respective fields, enthusiastic about serving a greater cause than themselves and to finally nurture a dynamic that will only continue to grow. It is a land of experimentation with the goal of learning and understanding how to once again occupy a rightful place within the balance of a coherent whole. It is the heartfelt response to a natural aspiration from the depths of a valiant heart. Welcome to the new paradigm of human civilisation.
This city will be named Jandraline
"Unending competition is a source of stress and may not always be the best survival strategy. Cooperating means optimising one's action, time, and energy. Cooperating among all living beings, not just among humans at the expense of life itself. Cooperating with nature. Living beings form the links of an Earth that preexists them, even though they contribute to shaping it, and on which they are merely passing through: this is indeed our "common home".
We are not separate from nature, we belong to it and we depend on it, especially through the oxygen provided by plant photosynthesis, the water purified by ecosystems, what we nourish ourselves with, and through what we use to transform and create our immediate environment, etc.
Cease to think individually* (but) draw inspiration from traditional wisdom, not for an utopian and undesirable step back, but to relearn how to interact with the living by preserving and regenerating it. In this regard, the values of solidarity and cooperation* (...) are not outdated ; quite the opposite. They lie at the heart of the new forms of economy, collaborative, sharing, and symbiotic, which draw inspiration from nature. However diverse they may be, these economic initiatives share the common goal of rediscovering nature from the perspective of cooperation, sharing, and mutual support (...) and, in doing so, help us, humble human beings, to reclaim a place not above, but alongside and among other living beings.[*] The author of this quote, despite its relevance and perfect alignment with our own philosophy, has urgently requested that we remove any mention of their identity and that of the organization they represent, not wishing to be associated with our project in any way, which was NEVER a consideration in the first place. It goes to show that even in clarity and goodwill, the desire for division and the fear of "competition" are expressed. We still have much work to do to unify Humanity around the intelligence of the heart.
We wish the best to the author of this quote, despite their desire for isolation and their rejection of complementary and constructive forces that align with their approach to things, at least in words.
